The good news is, Forward Madison doesn’t lose at home. At least, they haven’t yet this year.

The other good news is tonight’s opponent doesn’t win on the road. Greenville’s only away win this year was a 3-0 result over the last-place New York Cosmos on July 4.

The other good news is that Greenville’s most legit scoring threat, USL League One veteran Azad Liadi, will not be available tonight after picking up a pair of yellow cards in Saturday night’s 1-0 loss at Charlotte. And that game wasn’t as close as the score might suggest.

So, in other words, there’s really no bad news.

Well, okay, one piece of bad news: we’ll be without center back Kerfalla Toure, who talked himself into a red card at the end of the match Saturday.

The Mingos’ loss at Boise on Saturday is not, in my mind, a major cause for concern. They still looked like themselves, creating purposeful possession with creative movement. Boise was just better on the night.

With that in mind, Madison should hit the ground running at home tonight. I’m not sure Greenville’s defense, which has conceded 31 goals, will have an answer for Madison’s pace, creativity or set piece prowess. Meanwhile, even a Toure-less backline should handle Greenville’s anemic attack.

The club announced Tuesday that it had signed former FC Cincinatti draft pic Ben Augee to a 25-day contract. The Gonzaga product is a midfielder who saw some time with FC Cincinatti 2 in MLS Next Pro.

It sounds like he’s been training on a trial basis with the club for a bit, but I wonder if the club had to pull the trigger because Mark Segbers went down injured in the first half on Saturday.

In Boise, The Mingos gambled and for once, a win wasn’t in the cards.
